Nicknamed “Yaya,” she grew up in Venezuela with two brothers and an identical twin sister (Rebeca). Her father was a professional soccer player in Spain. She played for three years on the Venezuelan National Team (1997-99).

Pazo began her collegiate career at Texas-Arlington where she was chosen as the Southland Conference co-Player of the Year as a sophomore. She transferred to Rice, and playing alongside her twin, was named first-team all-Western Athletic Conference in 2004. In their first season together, they helped Rice reach its first ever NCAA Tournament. As a senior she was named first-team all-Region as well as Honorable Mention All-American. Pazo graduated with a degree in Health Science.

Pazo first made her appearance on the AVP tour in 2006. Last season, she played with Kendra Van Zwieten where they had a best finish of 7th. This season on the AVP tour, Pazo is playing with Sarah Day. They finished 5th at the St Petersburg Open, and 7th at the Milwaukee Open.
