AVPNext is the official developmental program of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. It offers the stars of tomorrow a proving ground, a shot at a cash prize and the grand prize of a chance to play their way into the AVPNext Championship Cup and AVP Championships at Huntington Beach.

AVPNext was created as a way to identify and develop the next generation of beach volleyball stars and competition will take place across the country from May to September in the markets of Scottsdale, Ariz., Salt Lake City, Utah, Colorado, Milwaukee, Wisc., Chicago, Ill. and South Florida.

The winning men’s and women’s team from each market receive a cash prize and a trip to Huntington Beach, Calif. to take part in the AVPNext Championship Cup. The winners of the Cup will then earn an automatic berth into the AVP Championships at Huntington Beach where they will join the best of the beach for the season’s final tournament.

Teams of all skill level can participate in AVPNext events and entrants must be at least 16 years of age and valid U.S. citizens. Athletes who were ranked in the top-32 in AVP points as of Jan. 1, 2014 are not eligible to participate. Each region governs its own series format and will crown the winner based on the format.

In order to participate in the AVPNext series, participants must register to be AVPNext members at https://avp.webconnex.com/avpnext. Membership is free for 2014 and members receive a 10% discount at the online AVP Shop and 10% off tickets bought online for any of the 2014 AVP events (excluding St. Petersburg). Discount codes will be included in the confirmation email that members receive after they register.

In addition to winning prize money and a trip to Southern California, the winners of each regional market earn the AVP points equivalent of a 13th place finish in an AVP main draw event. The winner of the AVPNext Championship Cup then earns a berth into the main draw of the AVP Championships, earning themselves the points equivalent to at least a 13th place finish.
