Teams Confirmed for Corrientes Grand Slam

Lausanne, Switzerland, May 8, 2013 – The teams for the second Grand Slam of the year – the Corrientes Grand Slam in Argentina – have been confirmed following the passing of the deadline for federations to make any changes.
Federations had until the end of Monday (Lausanne time) to confirm which of their teams would fill their respective national federation positions in the Corrientes Grand Slam Main Draw and Qualification tournaments, which will take place from May 22 to 26.

Beach volleyball could return to London this summer after the capital was named as a host for one of the women's International Tour competitions.
However Volleyball England insist they still need significant commercial backing to make the event a reality.

USA to host first FIVB event since 2003 at FIVB Long Beach Grand Slam

Lausanne, Switzerland, May 7, 2013 – It has been a decade in the making, but the wait should be worth it when the world’s best professional best volleyball players return to the United States in sunny Southern California for the FIVB Long Beach Grand Slam. There is a total of US$440,000 up for grabs at the event, which will take place from July 22 to 28.
UC Irvine defeats BYU in three sets to claim consecutive national title

LOS ANGELES – UC Irvine won its second national championship in a row, and its fourth in the last seven years, with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 26-24) sweep of top-ranked BYU in the NCAA Championship final Saturday night at Pauley Pavilion.
The second-seeded Anteaters (25-7) became the first team in 17 years to win back-to-back titles since UCLA performed the feat in 1995 and 1996.
UCI, which swept USC in last year’s final, is the first school in 30 years to win consecutive championship matches without losing a set. The Anteaters also won national titles in 2007 and 2009.
Southern Cal duo wins AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball pairs championship

Gulf Shores, Alabama - Kirby Burnham and Stevi Robinson of Southern Cal won the 2013 AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball national pairs championship today, as the duo that finished second in last year's inaugural tournament came in second in this year's as well.
Burnham, who was eliminated in last year's quarterfinals while playing with a different partner, and Robinson defeated Long Beach State's Caitlin Ledoux and Tara Roenicke 21-19, 21-19 to cap three days of sand volleyball at the Gulf Shores public beach.
