A seasoned veteran, Wong has enjoyed a successful AVP career. He ranked in the top 20 eight times from 2001-2009, including seventh in 2008 and 2009. In Brooklyn in 2006, he became the 21st American player to eclipse $500,000 in combined domestic and international earnings. Then in Brooklyn in 2007, he became just the 30th player to compete in 200 professional events.

In 2003 Wong and Eric Fonoimoana, in their first tournament together, won the Manhattan Beach Open, becoming the fifth team since 2001 to win in their first outing as a team. In 2004, the pair won the Hermosa Beach Open. Also among Wong's wins are the 2001 Manhattan Beach Open and King of the Beach title. He has won titles on three different tours with three different partners. His first career win came on his 27th birthday.

Statistically, Wong ended the 2005 season eighth on the Tour in blocks (173) and again in 2007 he was eighth in blocks (1.58 per game). He was Karch Kiraly's partner during the 2007 season, Kiraly's final year of pro beach volleyball.

Wong is a 1995 graduate of UCLA, where he played on the Bruins' 1993 and 1995 NCAA championship teams and graduated with a degree in economics. He is a three-time All-American and also toured Greece , Italy and Spain as a member of a Collegiate National Team. He has done public address announcing at home UCLA men's matches.

He was born and raised in Honolulu alongside brothers Scott, who also played on the AVP Tour, and Jason. Kevin and Scott teamed up for six events together. Kevin and fellow Hawaiian and pro beach volleyball player Stein Metzger created and organized the annual "Food Bank Invitational" on Waikiki Beach. In 2000 Wong was named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People."

Wong's personal motto is Winston Churchill's quote, "Never, never, never give up." Wong says, "I have always strived to live my life with integrity and put God first."
