AVP CARES heads to Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach Saturday for a PADRES Contra El Cancer fundraiser.
AVP CARES will team up with Tin Roof Bistro, located in the Manhattan Village Shopping Center, to host “Serve Up A Cure” this Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
During this special fundraising event to benefit PADRES Contra El Cancer, AVP athletes used to serving on the sandy courts will instead serve the public as waiters, bartenders and hosts at the luncheon. All tips collected will be donated to PADRES to supplement funds raised by Tin Roof Bistro.
Players Hans Stolfus, Brittany Hochevar, Jenny Kropp, Katie Lindquist, Rosalinda Masler, Alicia Polzin, Sarah Straton, Cayley Thurlby, and Chrissie Zartman will be there to serve and mingle with fans.
In addition to meeting the players, guests will have an opportunity to pick up pointers from them as a volleyball clinic will be set up near the restaurant. Guest will also have the opportunity to meet some of PADRES' extraordinary pediatric cancer patients and their families. Come spend this Saturday with us and support children with cancer!

Founded in 1985, Padres Contra El Cáncer brings together children, families, healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders, as well as effective methods for their treatment. Padres currently remains the only Latino organization of its kind operating within the United States. Padres’ unique and inclusive program model is premised upon the delivery of a health and education curriculum designed to be culturally relevant, family-centered, and community-based. While primarily oriented to the Latino community, Padres’ programs, activities and services serve childhood cancer patients and their families of all races, nationalities and ethnic origins and no families are turned away. Since 2005, Eva Longoria Parker has served as the organization’s national spokesperson. For more information, please visit www.IAmHOPE.org.
