Jen Snyder and Billy Allen have been named 2009 Paul Mitchell AVP Hot Shot award winners as athletes who stand out from the crowd, as voted on by fans on AVP.com.

Fans were asked to vote between April 21 and Oct. 12 for players who caught their attention, either through their relentless play on the beach or their personalities off the court. To be eligible, players had to be ranked 17th or below at the beginning of the 2009 AVP season while having played on the Tour for no more than four years.

Snyder (29 percent) beat out fellow nominees Brittany Hochevar (23 percent), Lisa Rutledge (10 percent), Jenny Kropp (9 percent), Whitney Pavlik (9 percent), Keao Burdine (7 percent), Angela Knopf (6 percent), and Sara Dukes (6 percent).

On the men's side, Allen (20 percent) knocked out Eyal Zimet (17 percent), Casey Patterson (15 percent), Russ Marchewka (14 percent), Braidy Halverson (9 percent), Mike Placek (8 percent), Ty Tramblie (8 percent), and Will Strickland (8 percent).

With the award, Snyder and Allen will receive cash consideration and represent Paul Mitchell throughout the 2010 season. Keep an eye out for Snyder and Allen sporting Paul Mitchell tatoos and signing autographs in the Paul Mitchell booth at each tournament next season on the beach.

Congratulations to Hot Shots Jen Snyder and Billy Allen!
