Holly McPeak owns 28 AVP titles and will be inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame tomorrow.

Call her Hall-y. As in, "Hall of Famer."

Holly McPeak's name will be forever enshrined when she is inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame tomorrow in Holyoke, Mass., the birthplace of volleyball.

Among myriad accomplishments, McPeak is one of five women to have competed in the first three Olympic Games featuring beach volleyball. She earned a bronze medal in Athens with Elaine Youngs in 2004 after fifth-place finishes with Nancy Reno in 1996 and Misty May-Treanor in 2000.

McPeak won 72 titles in her legendary career, including 28 AVP wins. She was beach volleyball's all-time winningest woman from June 6, 2004 until May 20, 2007, when May-Treanor broke her record.

In July 2002, McPeak became the first woman to surpass $1 million in career earnings. By her retirement in May, she had earned more than $1.5 million. McPeak came out of retirement in August to play with Kerri Walsh and placed fifth, pushing her over the $1.6 million mark. She ranked in the top 10 on the AVP Tour six times, making such earnings possible.

McPeak's world-class level of play garnered numerous accolades, including AVP Most Valuable Player for an 11-win 1993 season, AVP Best Defensive Player 2002, 2003 and 2004, and AVP Outstanding Achievement in 2004.

McPeak is part of the newest induction class that also consists of Ana Beatriz Moser of Brazil, Ivan Bugaenkov and Nikolai Karpol of Russia, Paul Libaud of France, and Siegfried Schneider of Germany. Libaud was elected as an administrator, Karpol as a coach, and the rest as players.

"The six members selected for the 2009 Volleyball Hall of Fame show a remarkable distinction of success in the sport of volleyball," said Doug Beal, Co-Chair of the Volleyball Hall of Fame Selection Committee. "This induction class exemplifies diversity among represented countries and gender in areas of administrative leadership, coaching and both indoor and beach disciplines. This group continues to expand the excellence already inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame."

With the Class of 2009, the Volleyball Hall of Fame showcases its worldwide theme of recognizing the top individuals within the sport. Russia will have its ninth individual enshrined into the Hall, while Brazil will have its fourth inductee. Germany and France are having their first countrymen inducted. A total of 17 different countries are represented in the Volleyball Hall of Fame with at least one inductee.

"As the Hall continues to become more internationally focused, we are delighted to showcase the talents of this class and help recognize the sport's best players, coaches and leaders," Volleyball Hall of Fame President David Casey said.

Incorporated in 1978, the Volleyball Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the men and women of the sport and the promotion of volleyball worldwide. The 24th enshrinement event, including Hall of Famers 89 through 94, will take place tomorrow at the Hall of Fame at 444 Dwight St. in Heritage State Park.
