Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh have a chance to win some bonus money this year.
AVP athletes and fans can look forward to some exciting new developments in how prize money is awarded on the AVP Crocs Tour. The addition of two bonus pool opportunities will raise the stakes for AVP athletes as the season’s momentum builds.
Most AVP Crocs Tour tournaments will feature a total prize purse of $240,000, with the winning team taking home $24,000. However, the stakes are higher in Manhattan Beach and Chicago, with $258,000 total prize purse. As Chicago is our Championship event, the winners will take home $26,000. Specialty events at the end of the season (Cincinnati, Las Vegas and Glendale), will feature $200,00 prize purses, with the winners taking home $20,000. Total prize money for the season nears $4 million.
In addition to the tournament prize purses, the chance at bonus pool prizes will elevate competition. The first bonus pool consists of four Crocs Slam Tournaments with extra bonus prize money. $25,000 per gender will be paid out to the Top Four finishers at each of these Crocs Slam events. The Crocs Slam Tournaments start midway through the season with Coney Island, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Chicago.
The larger pool, the Crocs Cup Bonus Pool, rewards the Top Four teams for the entire season with $75,000. Standings will be based on each team’s Top Ten finishes for the season as a whole.
There’s a lot of cash up for grabs, so fans can be sure that the competition on the sand will be fierce!
