Nicole Branagh wins the women's pool play in Omaha
Having recently hosted the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships this past December, the Qwest Center played host once again tonight, as Omaha’s volleyball enthusiasts came to see the AVP Johnsonville Hot Winter Nights Tour.
The results from the women’s pool play round are as follows:
Match 1: Boss/Kropp 10 vs. Branagh/Turner 15
Match 2: Boss/Turner 15 vs. Branagh/Kropp 11
Match 3: Boss/Branagh 15 vs. Kropp/Turner 7
After women's pool play, fans in Omaha were in for a treat, as University of Nebraska's, Rachel Schwartz, took to the sand with the Pros and appeared in two matches. In the first match, Schwartz teamed with Nicole Branagh, for a two-on-two match against Jen Boss and Jenny Kropp. Kropp and Boss prevailed 16 to 14.
On the men’s side of the competition, pool play results are as follows:
Match 1: Medel/Olson 15 vs. Rogers/Metzger 17
Match 2: Medel/Rogers 15 vs. Olson/Metzger 10
Match 3: Medel/Metzger 8 vs. Olson/Rogers 15
The final exhibition match of the night went back to the newly adopted format of the Hot Winter Nights Tour, a coed, four-on-four, matchup.
Teams for this match were Olson, Metzger, Kropp, and Branagh versus Schwartz, Turner, Medel, and Rogers.
After a well player match, the final score was Rogers’s team 24 to Branagh’s team 22.
