Hot Winter Nights Results from Grand Rapids
Akers and Jennings capture individual titles

Angie Akers took home her first career Hot Winter Nights title.
The second week of the 2009 AVP Johnsonville Hot Winter Nights Tour kicked off to an exciting start, as fans in Grand Rapids were treated to some of the best on the beach.
The women's side of the competition saw Angie Akers, Diane DeNecochea, Brittany Hochevar, and Elaine Youngs. Pool play results are as follows:
Match 1: Akers/DeNecochea 15 vs. Hochevar/Youngs 12
Match 2: Akers/Hochevar 19 vs. DeNecochea/Youngs 17
Match 3: Akers/Youngs 15 vs. DeNecochea/Hochevar 11
In the finals, Angie Akers chose to play with Diane DeNecochea, while Elaine Youngs partnered with Brittany Hochevar. Akers and DeNecochea defeated Youngs and Hochevar, with a final score of 15 to 12. This win marks Angie Akers' first career Hot Winter Nights title.
On the men's side, fans saw the reigning Olympic Gold Medal duo of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers, along side of fellow AVP Stars Casey Jennings and Nick Lucena. Pool play results are as follows:
Match 1: Dalhausser/Jennings 15 vs. Lucena/Rogers 9
Match 2: Dalhausser/Lucena 17 vs. Jennings/Rogers 15
Match 3: Dalhausser/Rogers 15 vs. Jennings/Lucena 9
In the finals, Phil Dalhausser chose to partner with Todd Rogers, while Casey Jennings partnered with Nick Lucena. In a surprise upset, Jennings and Lucena defeated Dalhausser and Rogers, with a final score of 15 to 13.
