AVP launches live Internet radio
Player interviews, tour features, more on AVP Radio
Hans Stolfus will be one of the voices of the new AVP Radio
The boss won't let you get the weekend off? You live across the country? The kids have soccer games all day Friday to Sunday? Well, don't fret AVP lovers, because you will no longer have to feel left out of the beach volleyball action.
Last weekend, in San Francisco, AVP.com launched its first live Internet radio broadcast and it'll be back again, this time to bring you all the drama of this weekend's Manhattan Beach Open.
"We wanted to launch a free, live product that our core base of passionate fans would enjoy," said Jason Hodell, CFO/COO of AVP. "Internet radio is not expensive to launch, delivers value to fans and can win sponsorships for the content if we perform well."
Made possible by Trikke, AVP Radio will provide player interviews, tour features and current coverage of the tournament bracket as it all unfolds.
Listeners will hear the voices of UCLA play-by-play announcers Michael Sondheimer and Darren Preston, Toyota Tour voice Matt Romanowski and the color commentary of Hans Stolfus and Danny "Kinda" Madden.
The show's goal is to entertain while covering the action on court for those who are unable to be on the sand in person.
