LOS ANGELES -- The world's best beach volleyball players and top-ranked AVP Crocs Tour teams Misty May-Treanor/Kerri Walsh and Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers continued their pre-Olympic dominance, capturing gold at the Henkel Grand Chelem, in one of the toughest warmups for Beijing. Reigning World Champions and AVP Crocs Tour Champs, Dalhausser/Rogers earned their first international tour title of the season adding to their six AVP Crocs Tour tournament wins in 2008. Dalhausser, was named as the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament, shared the spotlight with fellow AVP star May-Treanor who was selected as the Most Outstanding Player for the women.

"This past weekend was a prime example of how the AVP Crocs Tour continues to produce the world's highest quality beach volleyball," said AVP Crocs Tour commissioner Leonard Armato. "We are so proud of the success our teams had on a world stage in Paris, while at the same time some of our best rising stars were battling it out in our event in Belmar, New Jersey. It was a great way for us to start a memorable pre-Olympic stretch, and we are all looking forward to the biggest, most exciting summer in the 25 years of the Tour."

For May-Treanor/Walsh, this is their third Henkel Chelm title in four years and second consecutive title on the FIVB tour in as many attempts in 2008. They have now captured eight titles this year including six on the AVP Crocs Tour and remain unbeaten in 2008. May-Treanor/Walsh faced off in the finals against fellow Americans, Rachel Wacholder and Tyra Turner in the finals. For Turner/Wacholder, this is their second medal on the international circuit this year, also earning a silver medal earlier this month in the FIVB's tournament in Stare Jablonki, Poland.

AVP Crocs Tour standouts Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh completed the women's sweep of the podium taking home the bronze medal, their third international medal of the year on the, which includes a gold medal from Barcelona. This is the second time in the 17-year history of the FIVB Tour that American women have swept the podium. Wacholder, Walsh and Youngs were all part of the initial 1-2-3 American sweep in 2004 in Norway where Youngs and Holly McPeak defeated Annett Davis and Jenny Johnson Jordan for the gold medal in Stavanger. Wacholder and Walsh placed third as May-Treanor was sidelined with injuries for the Olympic qualifying event.

In addition to tournament titles, AVP Crocs Tour stars competing on the international circuit are also vying for the coveted positions on the US Olympic Beach Volleyball team. Qualification closes on July 20, during the AVP Crocs Slam Brooklyn, New York.
