St. Louis and Third Coast Volleyball come out on top

The Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup weekend was a huge success!  Meghan House and Colleen Hunter came out on top on the Women's side and Tim Wooliver and Colin Kaslow won on the Men's side.  Both teams played extremely hard all day on Thursday and brought that same level of competition into the main draw on Friday.  It wasn't easy for them on Friday as they played some of the top teams in the AVP (ie. Akers/Turner, Loomis/Patterson).  Despite ending their run on Friday, both teams were happy to have been a part of such a special event. 

“That’s why we play, to eventually make it to the AVP," said Tim Wooliver, the Men's champion from Austin, Texas. 

Meghan House from St. Louis was ecstatic after their win.  “We’re in shock,” House said. “As soon as the ball hit that net, we just started bawling.”

Away from the court all the Barefoot athletes enjoyed some of the best San Francisco has to offer.  They stayed in Le Meridian and were treated to lavish dinners at the host hotel and AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants.  All the players had a great time and are already looking ahead to next year.

"The event was classy, well planned & well executed and I am very grateful to have earned the opportunity to take part in it.  I look forward to having an opportunity to take part in this event again next year," said one player.
